I really loved the part about “The Dog” .. like I almost saw it, without ever having seen it, really wish to see it in real life now. But I also almost wish it was three part series instead of one piece talking about three artworks? I was so transported by your writing of “The Dog”, that the next part gave me a weird taste, like when you are eating a dessert and suddenly a piece of pit of some fruit strikes and grinds your teeth.. There wasn’t enough space in between the works, I did not get a chance to exhale and more air was pushing in with the next artwork, and the next. I feel like I would be able to better appreciate all three if they were standing on their own.
Yet, thank you for introducing me to “The Dog”.. I felt a lot.
Thank you, Katri. I'm thrilled you found "The Dog" intriguing!
I cannot recommend visiting El Prado and Goya's permanent exhibition highly enough. He is one of the most incredible artists I've had the pleasure of experiencing.
Point taken. As I wrote the piece, I thought exploring trauma and pain through a combination of artists, each tackling the subject from their unique perspectives with their own art, would be an effective way to approach a topic that deeply resonates with me these days—admittedly, I got a bit carried away.
I could certainly have divided the post into a series to maximize the reading impact. It was only after posting that I realized it was a 14-minute read.
As always, thank you for sharing your thoughts, your feedback and insightful input. It helps me grow as a writer.
Really enjoyed looking at these pieces through your POV 👁️
Thank you John!
